L'eglise Baptiste de Romeo (pronounced ro MAY oh), which was started many years ago by Pastor Apollon Noel, has approximately 600 members. Pastor Franel Edlin has been the Assistant Pastor there since 2007.  The Pastor of the church in Romeo is currently on sabbatical while he is studying in the US.

Romeo is a community of approximately 14,000 people situated on the main road leading from Cap-Haitian to the border of the Dominican Republic. Romeo is just a few miles east of Terrier Rouge.  Many of the people living in this area make their living from making and selling charcoal. Most are also subsistence farmers. But there is really very little employment in the area.
