Years of conflict, instability and insecurity have greatly impacted the Great Lakes region of Africa. War, genocide, AIDS, natural disasters and the inevitable poverty brought on by these things has left many children in devastating situations. With the overwhelming effects of poverty in this region of Africa, it has become impossible for many parents to afford the necessary school fees to send their children to school.
His Hands for Africa has established a Child Sponsorship Program through which you can sponsor a child in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda or Uganda to help them attend school. Your sponsorship will provide them with a uniform, an education and, if a meal is available in their school, it will also pay for their meal.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, $10.00 per month will pay for a primary student to attend school. $12.50 per month will pay for a secondary student to attend school.
In Uganda, $12.50 per month will pay for a primary student to attend school. $25.00 per month will pay for a secondary student to attend school.
In Rwanda, $12.50 per month will pay for a primary student to attend school. $30.00 per month will pay for a secondary student to attend school. The opportunity to attend school can be life-changing for these children!
Sponsors receive a photo and personal information about the child they are helping including information about how to correspond with their child, if they choose to do so. Sponsors can choose the age and/or gender of the child they would like to sponsor and may continue to sponsor the same child from year to year, as long as the child remains in the program. 100% of the sponsorship payment goes directly to Africa. None of it is used to cover the administrative expenses of this program here in the US.
Sponsoring a child in Africa is truly a blessing not only to the child, but to the sponsor as well. If you would like information about how you can sponsor an African child, please contact us.
